Summary
The Accounting Business Partner is primarily responsible for the monthly accounting of operating and finance leases as lessee and lessor, preparation of related monthly, quarterly and annual reports and preparation of monthly and semi-annual lease payments to outside banks and lessors.
Essential Functions

Gather relevant data on new equipment and real estate leases and prepare classification tests as lessee.

Set up right of use asset and lease liability schedules in the CoStar accounting software for operating and finance leases as lessee.

Prepare monthly lease payment requests & provide backup to lessors.

For secured revenue earning equipment financings, prepare semiannual payment requests including payment of early terminated vehicles (sales or casualties) & provide backup to lessors/banks.

For new revenue earning equipment secured financings, work with IT, Treasury and Vehicle Administration to finalize pool of vehicles and values, gather backup documentation needed by lenders, ensure funding on timely basis and reconcile to received funds. Set up ongoing accounting including obligation schedules and load detail into database to track early termination sales/casualties.

Evaluate embedded leases in GPS (Teletrac & Peoplenet) subscriptions. Identify those requiring finance lease accounting, update database, book finance lease additions as lessee and reconcile detail reports to GL.

Prepare buy out analysis for senior management review & approval. Submit notifications to lessors/banks and coordinate physical payments and recording of pay offs for expiring revenue earning equipment and secured financings.

For existing operating and finance leases as lessee, post monthly entries to book rent expense, interest & depreciation expenses out of CoStar, prepare monthly roll forward reports, quarterly maturity schedules and monthly account reconciliations.

As lessor, monitor sales-type system and adjusting entries posted to GL. As needed research and confirm accuracy of unusual transactions including gain or loss on sales type leases, write- down to FMV on early terminations and recording of modifications. Reconcile related balance sheet accounts to detail reports and prepare related quarterly and annual disclosures.

Backup Senior Lease Accountant and financing analyst on selected tasks.

Participate in special projects, such as accounting for leases in business combinations, and prepare reports and analysis as requested.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required in Business or Accounting with Master's degree preferred

Four years or more Public Accounting experience

Two years or more Supervisory experience preferred

Certified Public Accountant preferred

Compensation Information :
The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc.
Compensation ranges for the position are below:
Pay Type :
Salaried
Minimum Pay Range:
80,000.00
Maximum Pay Range:
90,000.00
The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type.
