Intern Opportunity and Scope:
WAF Engineering
-
Assist in day-to-day WAF operations, supporting site onboarding and/or troubleshooting.

Analyze attack analytics/events to highlight opportunities for enhanced security posture through WAF policy tuning/additions
-
Reconcile attack surface results against WAF properties to highlight opportunities for onboarding, defining a process to vet discovered web apps for onboarding (cost/effort vs. benefit/reduced risk analysis)

Outputs: Risk Matrix that supports considering cost/effort vs. benefit/reduced risk.

Target: High value internet facing web applications are identified and/or onboarded to WAF.
EDR Engineering
-
Assist day to day EDR operations by fulfilling EDR requests or troubleshooting submitted incidents to resolution.

Support gap closure between XDR enabled vs. Live systems on the network per CMDB or some other source of record.

Outputs : Thought Map, Process document, and objective, independent EDR enforcement

Target : Enrolled Systems = Live Systems, including a risk matrix that justifies deviation from the target.
Automation Engineering
- Assist in identifying opportunities for automation of SOC tasks and/or Health tasks, performing as the primary engineer and/or peer reviewer of automation jobs/playbooks prior to production enablement.
Qualifications & Education Requirements:

Pursuing a Degree and/or Certification in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

Takes initiative and can test/apply theoretical principles to solve complex problems.

Strong understanding of network security principles and enterprise deployment methodologies, including transitions from on-prem to cloud data centers.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to rapidly changing business requirements.
Preferred Skills
-
Experience in articulating threat vectors and accounting for the same in a SOC operating model.

Excellent written and verbal communication & presentation skills with diverse communities (technical and non-technical)
-
Strong analytical skills with an emphasis on fact-based reporting/summaries.

Good time management and attention to detail.
