Job Description
- Patrols and monitors the facility for situations that might endanger the safety and security of patrons, collections, and equipment.
- Maintains ongoing competency with security alarms, fire panels, video surveillance, alarm monitoring system, and door alarms.
- Reports daily to Library Security Coordinator on security-related issues and maintains logs of shift activities as well as “Lost and Found".
- Uses email, phone and radio communications between Library Security Office and Campus Police.
- Initiates emergency procedures when appropriate and assists with the implementation of these procedures as instructed.
- Stays current on methods/practices, knowledge, and skills in all job competencies.
