As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development of payload software, external interfaces, and operating system deployments. This position focuses on deploying novel systems on Size/Weight/Power constrained computing hardware for space sensor payloads. You will participate in all aspects of software design and development, starting with requirements generation and following through implementation, testing, deployment, and support. Your work will leverage core understanding of Linux fundamentals, fault-tolerant design, device interface implementation, and real-time operating systems. Responsibilities

Develop and support payload software, external interfaces, and operating system deployments.

Focus on deployment of systems on Size/Weight/Power constrained computing hardware for space sensor payloads.

Participate in software design and development from requirements generation to implementation, testing, deployment, and support.

Leverage Linux fundamentals, fault-tolerant design, device interface implementation, and real-time operating systems.

Collaborate with a team to tackle challenging projects and contribute to the future of space exploration.
Essential Skills
-
Proficiency in C/C++ and Python programming languages.

Experience with Linux and multi-threaded programming.

At least 5 years of professional full-time software engineering experience.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent disciplines.

Experience with real-time operating systems and system deployment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
-
Experience with operating system deployment and hardware driver interfaces.

Exposure to hybrid C and Python testing.

Experience with interfaces, timing, and communications protocols.

Exposure or experience within FPGA interfaces.

Experience with image processing algorithms.

Familiarity with simulation infrastructure such as Matlab or Python.

Active TS/SCI security clearance is highly desirable.
Work Environment
This is a fully remote position with potential travel required up to 2 weeks per quarter. You will work in a collaborative environment where knowledge sharing and teamwork are essential. This is a Contract position based out of Tucson, AZ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $67.31 - $85.00/hr.
