Commercial Real Estate Associate - Charleston Office

Moore & Van Allen's Charleston office is searching for a Mid-Level Real Estate Associate to join our dynamic team. We are looking for a candidate with a background in commercial real estate law representing clients in a variety of real estate transactions.

In this role, you will represent clients in all aspects of the commercial real estate landscape, including developers, investors, operators and lenders in connection with multifamily, industrial, office, mixed use and workforce housing assets. You will provide legal counsel in connection with acquisitions, dispositions. financings (including real property secured construction and permanent loans), common and preferred equity investments, joint venture agreements, capital raises and related ownership and corporate matters, leases, development and zoning matters. Additionally, you may represent clients in zoning appeals, property tax assessments, and tax abatement programs.

The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school, be eligible for admission to the South Carolina Bar, and demonstrate the ability to manage and close complex real estate transactions in a collaborative environment, utilizing leadership and independence. A minimum of four years of experience in commercial real estate law is required. Experience negotiating purchase agreements, joint venture agreements, loan documents, leases, and representing developers, lenders, and institutional clients is preferred.
