JOB SUMMARY

Measuring and Test Equipment (M&TE) is owned by all power generation plants, operating headquarters, transmission maintenance centers, as well as other departments throughout the Southern Company, and is used to monitor and maintain voltage, temperature, pressure, and many other critical measurement areas to specified tolerances. The Analyst in this position is responsible for customer service, shipping and receiving equipment, procuring equipment for capital and non-capital purchases, billing internal customers monthly, providing billing reports to internal customers upon request, and other supportive tasks on this wide variety of electronic and physical/dimensional M&TE. This position must also support the quality assurance program and act as secondary quality assurance representative. This position will potentially become lead auditor qualified. Other duties include understanding the calibration parameters and processes and discussing with customers as needed, picking up and delivering equipment, keeping customers updated on equipment, working with vendors to get updates on equipment, and documenting all processes to nuclear standards.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • College coursework and or degree a plus

  • Military or civilian metrology experience

  • Experience with customer service and/or quality management

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Experience working with multiple staff members (in a corporate environment)

  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and other company applications (for self-time reporting, self-expense reports, etc.)

  • Data entry experience and experience with specialized billing programs

  • Experience using an online timekeeping system/software

  • Ability to provide superior customer service to internal & external customers

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (telephone, verbal, and written)

  • Ability to work well with teammates and customers

  • Must be self-motivated and quick to grasp general concepts and guidelines

  • Possess excellent time management, planning, organization, decision making, and problem-solving skills

  • Flexible, multi-task oriented with the ability to meet deadlines, work with minimum supervision

  • Strong focus and accuracy and attention to detail

  • Ability to lift 50lbs (ex. heavy test equipment, case of paper, full file folder box, etc.)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Procure capital and non-capital equipment for both the lab and internal customers.

  • Conduct monthly billing and reporting to financial analyst.

  • Provide billing reports and discuss billing questions with customers.

  • Ship, receive, and bill Measuring and Test Equipment.

  • Work directly with customers to support their needs.

  • Work directly with vendors to ensure services are being delivered to the expected quality standards.

  • Ship and receive items from vendors, issue payment, and ensure proper paperwork is supplied.

  • Work alongside teammates to manage priorities and meet customer needs.

  • Proper loading/unloading and storage of Measuring and Test Equipment (M&TE) in/out of delivery van

  • Pick-up and delivery of M&TE to/from customer locations
