Job Title: Distribution EngineerJob Description
This role is part of the Distribution Department, focusing on designing and reviewing overhead and underground distribution lines ranging from 12.5 kV to 34.5 kV. The engineer will create and assess distribution design work packages for new customer construction projects, ensuring adherence to quality and consistency standards.
Responsibilities

Design and review overhead and underground distribution lines from 12.5 kV to 34 kV.

Develop overhead and underground cable/conduit work packages.

Design complex overhead and underground distribution projects in both urban and rural settings while complying with engineering and construction specifications.

Coordinate small design teams to develop budgets, prepare scoping documents, design criteria, and project deliverables.

Provide engineering assistance during construction and attend construction meetings, coordination efforts, and community outreach as needed.

Identify and initiate corrective actions when project objectives are not met.

Interpret codes and regulations to develop standards for construction projects.

Promote engineering professionalism and standards.

Develop, recommend, and implement plans by establishing goals, objectives, and requirements, including all scheduling, resources, and information for complex engineering projects.

Travel up to 30% of the time to client sites, with varying duration based on project needs.
Essential Skills
-
Proficiency in AutoCAD.

Experience in utility distribution services or electrical engineering within commercial construction.

Experience in power distribution.

Experience drafting/designing in AutoCAD, overhead distribution, underground utilities, underground distribution, electric system design, and utilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
-
Minimum of three to five years of experience with electric utility distribution design projects.

Minimum of three to five years of experience in overhead, URD, re-conductoring and asset replacement projects, and underground cable/conduit distribution design work package development.

Minimum of three to five years of experience with complex overhead and underground distribution projects in urban and rural environments.

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.

PE License is desirable but not required.
Work Environment
The position offers a remote work environment with a Monday to Friday schedule (7-3, 8-4, or 9-5). Employees enjoy three weeks of paid time off.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Bellevue, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $57.69/hr.
