Job Description

Building Managers are responsible for managing the Student Union Facility and Cone Center  overseeing the student operations team consisting of the Info Desk Specialist, the Operation Assistant, Movie Theater Technician and assisting with overseeing and support in the Loading Dock and Building Service areas.  

Building Managers are responsible for the following 3 objectives:


- Supervision
- Building & Event Management
- Customer Service

Supervision
Overseeing the Team
Building Managers will oversee the work completed by all student staff to ensure all assignments, tasks, and responsibilities are being carried out correctly and in a timely manner according to the daily space report and needs of our customers
Building Managers will hold all student staff accountable for adhering to all work policies, procedures, and guidelines and for acting in a professional manner and offering courteous and respectful customer service at all times
Building Managers will coordinate with the team addressing all customer needs promptly
Training & Support
Building Managers must be knowledgeable and proficient to know general responsibilities of all student staff team and be available at all times while on shift to offer support to staff as needed
Building Managers are responsible for correcting employee errors and providing immediate training to improve employees' knowledge and practice of operations
Building Managers will assist the building staff as needed with set-ups if all other primary responsibilities have been taken care of
Maintaining A Positive Team Atmosphere
Building Managers are to maintain positive attitudes at all times and approach customer needs with a ‘can-do’ attitude 
Building Managers are responsible for encouraging and maintaining a positive team-working environment upholding all work guidelines, rules, and regulations according to procedure
Building Managers are responsible for keeping employees actively engaged in working tasks and assignments at all times, except for approved break times according to work guidelines

Building & Event Management
Safety & Security
Building Managers will ensure all building spaces, events, meetings and programs taking place within are in compliance with Building Safety Codes, OSHA Safety Regulations, Fire Code Regulations and will be responsible for practicing safe crowd management on building premises
Building Managers are responsible for conducting emergency building evacuations and/or lockdowns in case of fire and all emergencies
Building Managers are responsible for communicating with emergency responders as needed and completing incident reports as required
Facility Management
Building Managers are responsible for ensuring the building is properly opened and closed according to procedure, and for completing and sending out all building reports as required according to procedure
Building Managers are responsible for conducting routine walk-throughs on all floors and spaces addressing all maintenance or other concerns as necessary and informing management as necessary through use of building reports and repair tickets
Building Managers are responsible for thoroughly inspecting and maintaining all furniture, equipment, supplies and other assets belonging to the Student Union and Cone University Building. 
Event Management
Building Managers are responsible for ensuring all events, meetings, and spaces are set-up with 100% accuracy according to all instructions and diagrams in a timely manner paying specific close attention to small details and aesthetics
 Building Managers are responsible for acting as the liaison between reservations and the operations team to ensure 100% customer service and support
Building Managers are responsible for overseeing the setup of upcoming events and the tear down of ended events in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction and event success 

Customer Service
Communication and Walk-Through
Building Managers are responsible for conducting walk-throughs, meeting with and following up with all customers to ensure customer satisfaction at all times and reporting feedback as necessary
Building Managers are responsible for checking on all spaces prior to meetings and events and introducing themselves to customers via person-to-person interaction. 
Customer Assistance
Building Managers are responsible for ensuring the team is actively engaged with customers at all times and communicating with customers to manage all needs, issues, and concerns that may arise
Building Managers are responsible for coordinating with staff to respond to customer calls and needs immediately with minimal interference to the events, meetings and programs in-progress
Building Managers are responsible for approaching customer inquiries with a ‘can-do’ attitude and trying to resolve and/or provide solutions for customers using all available resources
Customer Experience
Building Managers are responsible for ensuring meetings, events and programs are properly maintained and that the customers are satisfied to the highest extent.
Building Managers are responsible for interacting with Union customers and offering a welcoming, engaging, supportive, and above standard experience.
Building Managers are responsible for addressing all customer needs immediately to the best of their ability to apply critical thinking and resolution skills and communicating issues and/or suggestions back to management accordingly.
