Summary
Under supervision of the Director of Safety, you will be assisting with facilitation of the company's safety program. As a safety intern you will learn about construction activities, scheduling, risk assessments, planning, and implementing corrective measures as necessary. Assists in reporting incidents/accidents, investigations, root cause analysis and submitting reports as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education: Currently enrolled in Safety, occupational health, or related major at an accredited institution.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Strong planning and multitasking skills
- Outstanding organizational skills, flexibility and professionalism
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be results oriented, high initiative, ability to influence others and work in a team environment
Essential FunctionsThe Safety Intern assists with implementing site-specific safety programs, monitoring work for regulatory compliance, conducting safety inspections, and participating in safety training and recordkeeping. DemandsAbility to stand for extended periods, up to 60 minutes.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
