Position Summary:  The Intern supports the commercial development effort of CV International (CVI) and Capes Shipping Agencies.  The role will coordinate activities and deliverables with the Sales & Marketing Coordinator.  The Intern will play an important role in helping the Business Development department develop new leads and prospecting opportunities in targeted industry verticals.

• Software: MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.), LinkedIn.
• Self-motivated, and the ability to work within a team structure to achieve collective goals and positive results.
• Basic understanding of supply chain concepts and terminology.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this position are listed below. Other duties may be assigned to meet changing business needs.

• Assist in developing and executing sales & marketing programs.
• Conduct research on emerging tools, industry trends, and initiatives relevant to the company's goals and create comprehensive PowerPoint presentations to inform and educate leadership about these topics.
• Generate sales leads through market research utilizing various tools (LinkedIn, internet, trade show exhibitor lists, Panjiva, ZoomInfo, etc.) and provide additional administrative support to the sales team as needed.
• Assist in downloading data from the Transport Management System (TMS) for quarterly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and Quarterly Business Review (QBR) purposes.
• Assist with sourcing, designing, ordering, and inventory management of promotional products from vendors.
• Record and maintain weekly sales notes from the sales team in the company's CRM system.
• Other administrative support, responsibilities, and projects as assigned by management.
