STW: Graduate CAD Drafter/Mechanical Systems Diagrammer

This position will support the UNC Charlotte Facilities Management Maintenance Operations Department. This position will work directly with the Mechanical and Plumbing Shops Manager. This position will help with the Facilities Maintenance and Engineering units modernize its operations and maintenance of heating and cooling systems across the University.

Other responsibilities included:

• Assist the department by drafting complete diagrams and operating specifications of existing hot and chill water utilities systems across the campus.
• Read electronic and paper copies of original construction drawings and schedules, trace systems connections and flows, sketch the separate components and looks as a single system then transfer them to AutoCAD.
• Work with facilities engineers and maintenance technicians to verify systems components and connections in the field.
• Assist with development of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) team and activities.

Requirements and Skills:

• Prefer basic user of AutoCAD
• Prefer basic mechanical engineering knowledge including knowledge of pumps, valves, chillers, boilers, electric motors, and heat pumping concepts.
