Administrative Coordinator (Intern)

Organization: The Chamber, Leading Business in Cabarrus

Location: Onsite | Concord, NC

Position Type: Internship (Part-Time, 10–15 Hours Per Week)

Reports To: President/CEO

Position Overview

The Administrative Coordinator (Intern) gains hands-on experience in nonprofit management, chamber operations, and regional business development. Working directly alongside Chamber leadership, the intern will support essential database administration, event logistics, and operations. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented student seeking practical exposure to community engagement, organizational administration, and professional network management.

Learning Opportunities & Key Responsibilities

  • Database & Membership Administration: Gain experience in CRM maintenance by verifying member contact data, updating online directory profiles, and assisting with monthly invoicing operations.
  • Event Logistics & Production: Learn the execution phase of professional networking events through collateral preparation (nametags, signage), tracking event revenue reporting, and handling event registration.
  • Executive & Board Governance Support: Assist the President/CEO with boardroom operations, including consolidating team updates into formal agendas, compiling board packets, and managing meeting room logistics and catering setup.

Qualifications & Desired Skills

  • Education: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a higher education program (High School diploma required). Business, Marketing/Communications, Public Administration, or related fields preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Core Competencies: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, professional verbal/written communication skills, and reliable time management.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for event setup and boardroom logistics; ability to work onsite in the Cabarrus County area.
