Job Description
College of Engineering Student Ambassadors represent the UNC Charlotte College of Engineering to prospective students, families, and community members. Ambassadors support recruitment events, lead tours, and share their authentic experiences as engineering students to help future Niners learn more about academic programs, student life, and campus resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Campus & College Tours
Lead 0–1 College of Engineering tours per week for prospective students and their guests.
Share personal experiences and accurate information about engineering majors, student organizations, research opportunities, and campus resources.
Represent the College of Engineering in a positive, professional, and inclusive manner.
- Special Event Support
Assist with Open House and Admitted Student Day (ASD) events by:
Welcoming guests and answering questions
Helping with check-in, wayfinding, and room transitions
Participating on student panels or Q&A sessions, as needed
- Follow-Up & Outreach
Write postcards to prospective students after tours, sharing encouragement, answering common questions, and thanking them for visiting.
- Meetings & Training
Attend monthly ambassador meetings each semester (with additional meetings scheduled if necessary).
Participate in one mandatory training session at the start of employment to learn tour content, expectations, and customer service skills. (approx. 4 hours)
