Job Description

Under the supervision of the Leadership & Community Engagement (L&CE) Office’s Associate Director, the Graduate Assistant (GA) will co-supervise and advise the SERVE Team - a service-learning team-, plan and implement the Community Partner & Volunteer Appreciation event, and serve as a point of contact for all other community engagement programming. This position will also help with administrative tasks within the L&CE office.  

Learning Outcomes:

  • Gain an understanding of planning and developing effective programs
  • Learn program management, program planning, and program assessment skills
  • Develop an understanding of effective advising techniques

Primary Responsibilities of Position:

  • Assist with Program Development
  • Assist with experiential/service learning programs throughout the academic year.
  • co-supervising the SERVE Team
  • spearhead the Community Partner & Volunteer Appreciation event
  • spearhead the marketing and promotion of these programs
  • co-create and develop assessments for experiential/service learning programs
  • co-advise undergraduate students for experiential/service learning programs
  • help cultivate the spirit of service at UNC Charlotte 
    • Maintenance of Virtual Media
  • Assist the Associate Director with updating social media platforms. 
    • Other Duties as Assigned
  • Graduate Assistant will also work on L&CE administrative responsibilities as needed (answering the phone, welcoming students, etc) and other duties as assigned.
