Job Description

SUMMARY: 

GreerWalker LLP is actively seeking career-minded candidates for an internship position in its Forensic and Valuation Services (“FVS”) practice area. GreerWalker is a fast-growing full-service public accounting firm offering a broad scope of services. Our Forensic and Valuation Services practice provides consulting and advisory services to companies and their lawyers in various industries. Services include expert opinions, bankruptcy/restructuring assistance, fraud investigations, and business valuation. 

It is expected that the FVS Intern will receive broad exposure to various forms of accounting and financial services. Responsibilities will include market research, investigative document review, financial analysis and modeling. The FVS Intern will assist with the preparation of expert reports and internal investigative reports for the purposes of litigation and alternative dispute resolution. The FVS Intern may also assist with client presentations, exhibits for trial, and expert testimony. Additional responsibilities may include market research and financial modeling for GreerWalker Corporate Finance. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Financial Analysis – Prepare a wide range of financial analyses including business valuation and damages models for the purposes of litigation, bankruptcy, alternative dispute resolution, internal investigations, and estate/gift tax compliance and planning.
  • Research– Perform detailed industry and company research related to client engagements, and summarize the key issues to be included in reports and presentations.
  • Presentation Development– Assist in the development of PowerPoint presentations including management presentations, training presentations, and exhibits for trial.
  • Reports and Memorandums– Assist in the development of expert reports on damages or other forensic accounting opinions, and written business valuation reports.
  • Special Projects – Provide additional support for various special projects as needed to support the goals and objectives of the practice area.
  • Administrative/Other– Various other responsibilities may include attending prospect/client meetings, managing client files, supporting the business development efforts of colleagues, and recruiting.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Progress toward a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, economics, finance or similar
  • Interest in pursuing and obtaining professional certifications in accounting, finance, business valuation and/or fraud examination

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Potential travel within the southeast region and nationally
  • Ability to work overtime during the internship term
