Job Description
Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated EHS Intern to join our manufacturing team. This internship provides a hands-on learning experience in the field of environmental, health, and safety compliance within a fast-paced industrial setting. The intern will assist the EHS Manager in implementing and maintaining programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards while promoting a safe and sustainable workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the development, implementation, and monitoring of EHS programs and policies.
- Support data collection and reporting efforts related to environmental compliance (e.g., emissions, waste, and water usage).
- Conduct safety audits and inspections on the production floor to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct ergonomic assessments and job safety analysis of processes and equipment.
- Participate in incident investigations and support the implementation of corrective and preventive measures.
- Help organize and deliver EHS training sessions and materials for employees.
- Maintain and update safety documentation, including policies, procedures, and regulatory permits.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
- Assist in preparing reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of EHS regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience or coursework in EHS or a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques is an asset.
