UNC Charlotte Gig Training Program
Gig Internship
Closes on Tuesday, June 30, 2026
Job Description
The mission of T.E.A.M. Church is to be a Great Commission Church (Matthew 28.18-20) that teaches, equips, advances God's kingdom and mobilizes people through a global network of house churches who love their neighbors and do good. Dee Stokes Ministries, Inc. cultivates champions in business and in life to live out the Gospel practically through training, missions, authoring books, preaching, and teaching.
The Project
This Gig Training project engages a student in a grant writer role focused on
supporting T.E.A.M. Church and its home churches in developing a clear grant strategy
and identifying appropriate funding opportunities for community programs.
Many home churches have meaningful ideas to serve their local communities but lack
the grant-writing expertise, strategic framework, and awareness of available funding
resources to move those ideas forward. This project addresses that gap by helping the
organization establish a structured grant strategy and a curated set of grant
opportunities that individual home churches can pursue.
The student will contribute to the development of a grant strategy, research and
identify relevant grant opportunities, and assist in creating grant-ready materials that
can be adapted and used by individual home churches.
Key activities include:
ï‚• Serving in a grant writer capacity to support community-focused initiatives
 Developing a high-level grant strategy aligned to the church’s mission and
community priorities
ï‚• Researching and identifying appropriate faith-based, nonprofit, and community
grants
ï‚• Mapping grant opportunities to potential home church programs
ï‚• Assisting in the creation of reusable grant-writing narratives, templates, and
guidance
Learning Experience
This Gig Training provides a hands-on opportunity for students to build career-relevant
skills through:

needs.
2. Critical Thinking

3. Collaboration

grant audiences.
5. Ownership of Learning

research and written work.
6. Retention of Knowledge
Reinforcing learning through hands-on research, writing, and strategy
development.
7. Preparation for the Future
Building practical experience in grant writing, nonprofit strategy, research, and
professional communication relevant to future careers.
Outcomes
By the conclusion of the Gig Training, the student will have:
ï‚• Contributed to the development of a structured community program framework
ï‚• Assisted in identifying and documenting potential grant and funding opportunities
ï‚• Supported the creation of reusable grant-writing templates and narrative content
ï‚• Gained practical, real-world experience in nonprofit and community-focused work
The organization will benefit from increased grant readiness and clearer pathways for
