About SpanHR
SpanHR is a growing, remote-first company that embeds strategic HR teams inside scaling organizations across the country. We become part of our clients’ companies, not outsiders, and that means our internal systems need to run clean and strong. As we expand, we are elevating our technology foundation and seeking a tech-savvy student who wants real experience, real responsibility, and the chance to make an immediate impact. If you like solving problems, organizing chaos, and making systems work smarter, you will fit right in.
Position Summary
This role blends meaningful project work with an as‑needed support model similar to an internal Geek Squad. You’ll help improve SpanHR’s systems, maintain organization across platforms like MS365, SharePoint, and Slack, and jump in when something comes up. Support needs are occasional, while project-based work makes up the majority of the role. This is an excellent opportunity for a student seeking real-world IT experience in a professional setting. Students who can make a long-term commitment to this opportunity will be prioritized as our technology needs are ongoing.
Key Responsibilities
Project-Based Initiatives
- Assess and update the SharePoint file structure and permissions.
- Help improve resource organization across MS365 and other platforms.
- Document IT processes and SOPs for internal use.
- Support integration of IT steps in the onboarding workflow.
- Investigate and resolve existing OneDrive and file conversion issues.
- Contribute to systems improvements that support business growth.
As‑Needed Support Operations
- Serve as SpanHR’s internal “Geek Squad” providing help when issues arise.
- Offer occasional support for new-hire technology setup.
- Assist with access permissions across MS365, Slack, and Calendly/CalendarBridge.
- Troubleshoot practical system issues related to calendars, syncing, or file access.
- Track and organize support requests in a simple, transparent format.
Qualifications
- Interest in IT systems, support, or technology troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools (SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook).
- Curiosity and willingness to learn new platforms.
- Strong communication skills and resourcefulness.
- Ability to work independently and manage both projects and intermittent support needs.
Why This Role Is Great for Students
- Real-world IT experience with modern platforms.
- Project ownership opportunities that build your resume.
- Flexible as‑needed support work with exposure to professional systems.
- A supportive environment where questions are welcome and learning is encouraged.
- Experience that translates directly to future IT, operations, or technical roles.
