This is your chance to work closely with our Sponsorships Chair, Co-Chair, and Board of Directors to develop game-changing strategies that elevate our partnerships and community reach.

Your Responsibilities

• Trend-Spotting & Innovation: Research market trends to identify fresh opportunities for growth and innovation.
• Content Creation: Design and present eye-catching social media campaign ideas and contribute to engaging content for platforms like TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.
• Campaign Management: Plan, execute, and monitor marketing campaigns and promotions.
• Brand Development: Assist in rebranding efforts and develop sponsor-facing messaging materials.
• Digital Design: Create graphics, flyers, e-vites, and marketing assets for key events.
• Email Marketing: Help craft compelling email campaigns and quarterly newsletters.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Sponsorship team to brainstorm ideas and new communication channels.
• Professional Outreach: Draft partnership requests to organizations and influencers.

What We’re Looking For

• Currently Pursuing: A major in Marketing, Communication, or Business.
• Skills That Shine:
  • Solid communication (written & verbal).
  • Creativity, research, and a passion for innovation.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with social media tools and platforms.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop a plus).

Start: Feb 15th - March 30th (flexible on start date)

Location: Charlotte, NC (virtual)

• Month 1: Focus on research, trend-spotting, and content creation for social media platforms. This gives the intern time to understand the brand and audience while developing new ideas. The intern can also assist with email campaigns and start creating some digital assets for upcoming events.

• Final 30 Days: The intern can take on more ownership of campaign management, monitor results, refine messaging materials for rebranding efforts, and assist with partnership outreach. By the end of the second month, they can present their work and the impact it had, strengthening their portfolio for future opportunities.

Pay: Monthly Stipend of $950

Internship Site Description: First Gen Success is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization to support first-generation college students to become successful leaders in their careers. We offer a dynamic and ever-evolving program bridging the generational gap and lessening the constant economic disparities for high school girls who are on the path to becoming first-generation students. Through the enhanced curriculum, First Gen Success strives to support a unique environment in which rising 12th-grade young women can become college graduates and provide a collaborative environment that is challenging, rewarding, creative, and respectful of ideas and individuals. First Gen Success is working to develop a suite of marketing and communication materials and its overarching communication strategy with limited capacity. To achieve this, we are seeking a Marketing Intern.
