Job Description
The Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) is a program dedicated to supporting the growth and success of small businesses and entrepreneurs through expert consulting and educational services. Typically affiliated with universities or economic development organizations, the SBTDC provides guidance in areas such as business planning, financial management, marketing strategies, and technology commercialization. It serves as a resource for business owners seeking to innovate, improve operations, or navigate challenges. Through its services, the SBTDC aims to strengthen local economies by fostering business development and job creation. We are currently seeking someone to support our clients through the Small Business and Technology Development Center at UNC Charlotte. The candidate’s efforts will be focused on supporting counseling and programs intended to help make our clients’ businesses better.
Specific duties will include:
The candidates will primarily work as support for business counselors who are primarily engaging with the clients; however, the candidate will have some direct interaction with the clients. The candidate will be provided supervision and informational resources to support their efforts.
Qualifications
- Critical thinking skills
- Ability to work from the SBTDC at UNC Charlotte up to 20 hours per week
- Business acumen is a plus
- Customer Service orientation
Pay: Depends on knowledge/experience (up to $20/hr)
