Job Description
ACS Project Management Co-op
McKenney's Inc., voted one of Atlanta and Charlotte's BEST PLACES TO WORK, is seeking driven problem solvers who are interested in the building automation and controls industry. As an industry leading mechanical contractor, McKenney’s Automation and Controls Solutions has specialized in building automation and controls throughout the greater Atlanta area for over 20 years. At McKenney’s ACS our interns are an integral part of the success for our projects and the company, and we rely on and encourage their fresh ideas.
As an ACS team member, you will be part of a highly specialized group of controls professionals from day one and given training and tasks that are important and impactful to our projects' success. Interns work in a collaborative team environment under the leadership of the Project Managers and perform duties like an Assistant Project Manager while transforming the skyline and existing spaces throughout the Southeast.
The responsibilities and job skills learned are primarily dependent upon the individual’s drive, determination, and ability to learn and function on a multi-disciplinary project team. A typical day can range from assisting with generating an estimate, coordinating scheduled activities at the project site, and/or helping to come up with engineering solutions. A successful intern will learn how to estimate projects and scopes of work, work directly with vendors to purchase material and equipment, and support Field Team Leaders and customer needs through scheduling and site logistics management. Experienced, successful interns will have the opportunity to run jobs from inception, through construction and final job closeout, under the guidance of their Project Manager.
