FWS: Student Engagement Assistant

What’s the Job?

We are looking for a friendly, creative student to help our Student Engagement Assistant Director make the College of Engineering an awesome place for new students. If you love talking to people, enjoy being creative on social media, and want a flexible on-campus job, this is for you!

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Social Media Management: Help us build community by running a welcoming Discord group for incoming freshmen, and create fun, eye-catching content for our Instagram page to get students excited about upcoming events.

• Helping with Events: Help us brainstorm, set up, and run fun activities and events for engineering students.

• Creative Projects: Help design simple flyers or graphics for social media, and help us put together a handy, student-friendly "Freshman Survival" guide.

• Keeping Us Organized: Keep a quick list of student clubs and their contact info updated, and chat with students to see what kind of events they want to see next.

• Study Session Plus (Bonus!): If you’ve taken and feel good about MATH 1103 or MATH 1241, we’d love for you to occasionally drop into our peer study sessions to help students who might be struggling.

Who We Are Looking For:

• A People Person: You’re friendly, easy to talk to, and great at making people feel included.
• Creative & Social Media Savvy: You know your way around Discord and Instagram, and you love coming up with cool ideas for posts, reels, or events.
• Good Communicator: You aren't afraid to chat with peers, listen to feedback, and work as a team.
• Math Help (Preferred but not required): Passed MATH 1103 or 1241? That's a huge plus!

Note: This job is flexible! We will work around your class schedule, and tasks can change based on what you’re good at and what the department needs.
