Job Description

CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for an Installation Leader to provide hands-on leadership for the installation, start-up, and debugging of high-speed manufacturing process equipment.

Job Title: Installation Leader

Location: Newton, NC

Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Newton, NC

Pay Rate: Based on experience

Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred

Description

This role requires coordinating with mechanical, electrical, controls, facilities, IT, and operations teams to ensure efficient equipment deployment. The position applies mechanical engineering principles such as mechanics, hydraulics, thermodynamics, metallurgy, and machine design to support safe and effective operations.

Requirements

  • Mechanical equipment design, installation, start-up, and debug experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment

  • Experience managing mechanical and electrical trades during equipment installation and troubleshooting

  • Skilled with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor

  • Knowledge of machine guarding and safety standards (OSHA, ANSI, ASME); OSHA 30 Certification desired

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams

  • Able to multitask and work with minimal direction

  • Independently develops approaches to solutions

  • Familiarity with other engineering disciplines (electrical, civil, process)

  • Experience with high-speed cable manufacturing equipment (jacketing, ribbon stranding, buffering) is a plus but not required

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate tasks and workplans to meet customer schedules

  • Provide hands-on guidance for equipment installation and troubleshooting

  • Support start-up and qualification of equipment

  • Verify equipment build and layout against drawings

  • Coordinate installation plans with safety teams and plant receivers

  • Work with engineers and vendors to resolve installation or build discrepancies

  • Ensure safe work practices

  • Update drawings and equipment documentation

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years demonstrated leadership coordinating schedules, workflows, and installation teams

  • Strong technical aptitude and hands-on mechanical skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor

  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, safety standards, and installation best practices
