OVERVIEW
The Anne Springs Close Greenway seeks an Advancement Intern who is interested in providing a wide range of database, research, administrative, and general support to the Greenway’s advancement team. In return, the Greenway will provide an opportunity for the intern to gain experience in and familiarity with areas such as fundraising, strategy development, corporate and individual donor relations, special events and the day-to-day operations of a nonprofit organization with a regional reach. Successful applicants gain experience in the administrative and external roles of the Advancement Office. This position will report to the Senior Advancement Manager.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist the Advancement staff in in the planning and execution of specific Greenway fundraising and stewardship events
- Assist with entering data into Altru, the Greenway’s donor database and CRM. Provide support with other fundraising platforms including Givesmart and other Blackbaud solutions
- Conduct research on potential individual, corporate, grant and foundation partners
- Support the drafting and editing of donor correspondences, including receipts and acknowledgements, as well as the quarterly donor e-newsletter and annual donor report
- Attend weekly Advancement team meetings to provide support for deliverables
- Maintain donor and department files, including Advancement materials
- Assist with mailings, filing, and special projects, as needed
- Collaborate with Marketing department on executing promotional needs for advancement programs
QUALIFICATIONS
- Interest in fundraising for the nonprofit sector
- Passion for the outdoors and health and wellness is a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ideally familiarity with and/or experience with databases, preferably with Altru or other Blackbaud product
- Clear written and oral communication abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail

HOURS, START DATE AND DURATION
The Anne Springs Close Greenway’s advancement department hours are 9 am – 5:00 pm. A firm commitment of 15 to 20 hours per week is required. The internship term is from January to May 2025.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

- Pursing BA in Marketing Communications preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
CPR, First Aid, AED certification; will train
Child Protection training; will train
REPORTING TO THIS POSITION
No supervisory responsibilities
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines and equipment including computers, calculators, general office equipment, telephone, camera, etc. Able to exert up to twenty pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Must be able to walk long distances over various terrains during events and activities.
