Entry Level Electrical Engineer
US Army Corps of Engineers (No military service required)
Full-Time, Entry Level Electrical Engineer

About the Position: This position is located at Fort Liberty, North Carolina in the Wilmington District Engineering and Construction Division, Construction Branch. Serve as an engineer-in-training. Assignments and completed training are aimed in preparing the incumbent to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties outlined in the job description. The incumbent receives progressively more responsible assignments as experience and training are received to the next higher-level position.

Duties

  • Serve as an engineer-in-training in a developmental program in Construction Branch consisting of contract administration, quality assurance, environmental and safety oversight, design preparation and review, and cost estimating.
  • Assist in contract administration of construction contracts at all stages of contract execution for projects of all levels of complexity.
  • Assist in the preparation of plans and specifications for projects of small and medium complexity.
  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates at all stages of the design process.
  • Provide quality assurance for construction projects at various stages of construction.

Conditions of Employment

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A probationary period may be required in accordance with agency policy.
  • Valid state driver's license is required.
  • Mobility agreement may be required upon placement to the target grade.

Basic Requirement: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in Electrical Engineering with a GPA of 3.00

Starting Salary:  $51,157 - $66,505 for the first year.  Promotions may be available each year until the target grade is reached based on training and performance requirements.

Pay scale & grade GS 7 to target grade GS 12
