Job Description

Bright Silicon Technologies, located in Pleasanton, CA, is seeking an engineer with experience in fabrication of microscale structures and process development who is passionate about moving new technology to production. You will be responsible for the design, selection, commissioning, and support of automated processing systems in our production facility. We are a small team pioneering the state-of-the-art in solid-state optical beam-control, looking for innovators and hard workers. PRECISION ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Apply precision research and engineering principles to plan, design, development, documentation, and implementation of a variety of instruments, equipment, and systems with micron-scale precision.
  • Create, update and maintain production, troubleshooting, and maintenance SOPs to ensure quality of product.
  • Prepare summary reports, report results, identify problems, and suggest solutions.
  • Recommend improvements in method, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
  • Establish and/or modify guidelines, techniques, and procedures.

PRECISION ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Precision Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, related field or equivalent combination of education and previous relevant experience.
  • Ability to define and troubleshoot metrology processes.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving abilities.
  • Independence to solve routine design, process, and engineering problems with minimal supervision.
  • Experience multi-tasking, and effectively executing in multiple roles.

The ideal candidate would have familiarity with:

  • Optical metrology, including video measuring systems or equivalent.
  • Precision Engineering.
  • Assembly of microscale structures.
  • 3D CAD Software, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Cleanroom procedures and operation.
  • Machine thermal analysis, design, and compensation.
  • Industrial automation and controls.
  • Experience using Matlab.
