This role is dedicated to the distribution of the 1290 retail mutual fund products issued by Equitable to professional financial intermediaries such as broker-dealers, banks, independent financial planners, and Equitable Advisors, the company's retail distribution organization. The sales team is responsible for cultivating new relationships with firms and financial advisors, while maintaining our relationships with existing partners. 

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Initiates and/or follows up on sales calls; provides intermediaries with sales ideas; answers product questions; prepares proposal materials; runs illustrations; identifies new sales opportunities; and launches new products.
  • Client support activities may include: handling meeting coverage requirements; preparing for due diligence meetings; providing wholesaler communication and training; and completing sales analysis
  • Works closely with sales staff on increasing sales in the assigned region and in developing and maintaining assigned intermediary relationships
  • Identifies client needs & coordinates efforts to service assigned intermediaries
  • Leverages strategic relationships with investment providers, advisors, and clients; helps articulate key messages regarding the investment portfolio, major market events, and changing areas of investment opportunity

 

The base salary for this position is $50,000. This role is eligible for variable compensation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree 
  • 1+ years of capital markets experience or Financial Services experience
  • Series 6 or 7 & 63 required (or willing to obtain within 180 days after start date)
  • Prior account management experience or sales experience

  • Knowledge of the investment industry and ability to recognize business opportunities within and outside the industry
  • A self-motivated, positive team player, with outstanding internal and external communication capabilities
  • Understands the unique needs of proprietary sales force, outside broker dealers, and financial advisors.
  • Maintains exceptional interpersonal relations, including thorough verbal and written communication

 

Skills

Client Relationship Management: Knowledge of client relationship; ability to address issues critical issues to meet client needs and maintain engaged, partnering relationship with business partners and clients.

Effective Presentations: Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques; ability to present information to groups with the appropriate degree of formality.

Knowledge of Sales Channels: Knowledge of meanings and features of sales channels; ability to coordinate multiple and diverse options for selling an organization's products and services.

Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.

Strategic Sales Planning: Knowledge of sales principles, processes, techniques and tools; ability to develop sales plans that are future-oriented, support business strategy and reflect understanding of emerging, as well as existing, opportunities and markets.
