This virtual panel discussion will explore strategies and resources for students with disabilities to succeed in professional environments. We will address key topics like workplace accommodations, disclosure and offering practical insights for attendees.

Panelists:

Tevin Price, originally from Lamar, SC and raised in Winston-Salem, NC, holds a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice from UNC Charlotte and a Master's in Human Resources Management from Western Carolina University. With nearly a decade of HR experience, he focuses on talent acquisition, employee relations, and driving DEI initiatives. Currently, Tevin works as a healthcare recruiter and co-chairs the Persons with Disabilities business resource group at Novant Health, where he is dedicated to fostering inclusive workplaces. Appointed by NC Governor Roy Cooper, he serves on the Commission for the Blind board and was recognized as one of Diversity MBA Media’s Top 100 Under 50 Leaders. His passion for advocacy and inclusivity defines both his professional and community work. Outside of work, Tevin remains actively involved in mentoring and supporting emerging professionals in HR.

Laura Staniland Trybus is an Assistive Technology Specialist and Educational Software Consultant for the Educational Software Consulting group with the Center for Teaching and Learning. She provides training and technical assistance for faculty and staff with digital accessibility and assistive technology. She runs the Accessibility Training Partners Program and a variety of interdepartmental initiatives. Laura is a certified accessibility professional through the International Association of Accessibility Professionals, has her BA in Multimedia Development from Duquesne University, and a certificate in Information Systems Design from the University of Pittsburgh.

Dennis Lee was born in Seoul, South Korea and moved to the US in 1961. He’s lived in various states. He received his mechanical engineering degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. He is married to Beverly Lee and has two daughters. His youngest daughter Phoebe is currently in her senior year at UNCC and also majoring in mechanical engineering with a concentration in Biomedical engineering while working full time as an EMT. While his family was on a church mission assignment to Korea in the early 1970's, Dennis was involved in a childhood accident where he lost his left forearm in a high voltage electrical accident. This traumatic event was the catalyst that sparked his 'never quit' attitude, and participation in the 1992 & 1996 Paralympic Games where he represented Men's Standing Volleyball for the United States in Barcelona Spain and in Atlanta GA. Dennis's career paths led him to various opportunities and roles in engineering, engineering and plant manager, business manager, supply chain leader, NPI program manager, director for corporate real estate, and as a business transformation leader. He currently resides in Charlotte, NC where he works for a fortune 100 industrial technology company called Honeywell International as the Principal Strategic Planning Leader and looks forward to retirement in 2026. His priorities are his faith and family. His hobbies are spending family time, traveling, good food, hiking, golf, skiing, gardening and all outdoor activities.
