You’re invited to join Engage ME! Multicultural Engineers Program and College of Engineering staff for a presentation and plant tour of Corning International Optical Fiber and Cable on Thursday, January 25th from 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm (program time). The event includes a presentation and plant tour. Students will receive a step-by-step overview of using chemicals to use glass which is drawn down into optical fiber. Following this, students will see the inspection and shipping process to Corning customers.

The tour is open to students of all levels and majors; however, students in these programs of study may find particular interest in this opportunity: engineering, engineering technology, physical science, computer science, mathematics, business, and supply chain management.

The College of Engineering will be providing transportation to and from the event in a 15-passenger van. Please note the entire time commitment required for the Trek is about 3.5 hours to account for travel time. Transportation and logistics details will be sent to attendees ahead of time.
