Danita K. Washington serves as Chief Operating Officer at Cabarrus Rowan Community Health Centers, Inc. (CRCHC) in Concord, NC. Ms. Washington oversees front office operations, facility management, and information technology for all CRCHC’S health clinics.
Prior to joining Cabarrus Rowan Community Health Centers, Ms. Washington was the billing manager of Charlotte Community Health Clinic. Ms. Washington has 13 years of revenue cycle and nonprofit management experience. Her strong knowledge and understanding of collections, medical claim billing and coding, Danita has recovered over $3 million dollars in revenue for the North Carolina Division of Health Benefits (DHB) and over $1 million dollars in revenue during a pilot project for TRICARE Management Activity. Ms. Washington has also managed audits for South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Humana, and Alabama Medicaid while employed at Health Management Systems (HMS).
Ms. Washington served as President of DKW Foundation, a nonprofit organization she founded in Raleigh, NC, servicing the deaf and hard of hearing in North Carolina.
Ms. Washington has earned several awards and recognition for leadership and service including Lander University’s Young Alumni Award.
Ms. Washington received her bachelor’s degree in business and healthcare administration from Lander University and master’s degree in business administration from University of Phoenix – Raleigh, NC. Ms. Washington is also a graduate of the University of North Carolina – Greensboro (UNCG) receiving a graduate certificate in Nonprofit Management.
