Professionals from Lowe's and SIA Partners will explore the structure of the technical interview process—including the general interview, coding review, and culture fit—as well as share general tips and tricks on how to stand out.

Madlen Ivanova
Senior Manager, Data Science - Recommendations - Lowe's

As a Senior Manager of Data Science at Lowe’s, Madlen Ivanova leads the Digital Data Science team, which is responsible of the enterprise recommender system for both Digital and Stores. Sitting at the nexus of the technology transformation journey at Lowe’s, her team is driving innovation trough building Lowe’s proprietary AI driven products.

Prior to joining Lowe’s, Madlen was part of Enterprise Software Solutions, where she worked with small and large clients to advance their predictive models, consult on solutions, and solve some of their most pressing strategic and operational problems.

Madlen is the ambassador for Women in Data Science (WiDS) at Charlotte. She became the ambassador of the Stanford led initiative and started the Women in Data Science chapter in Charlotte in a close partnership with UNC Charlotte back in 2018.

Madlen graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science and holds an M.A. in Data Science and Business Analytics from UNC Charlotte. She is currently perusing a PhD degree in Computer Science in Recommender Systems and Information Retrieval at UNCC. She is also a winner of the worldwide Teradata analytics challenge in 2017.

Khalil Khouy
Data Science Manager - SIA Partners
Khalil is a Data Science consulting manager at Sia Partners with in-depth commercial banking knowledge along with data science & business analytics capabilities for optimizing processes & data storytelling. Khalil completed his DSBA PSM at UNC Charlotte while working at Sia Partners in 2019. He's been with the firm for over 4 years working in the Data Science and Fintech space, and he is currently pursuing his PhD in the Computer Science SIS track at UNC Charlotte.
